Conference 2024
We’re delighted to announce that our second conference will be held on Saturday 2nd March 2024, at NOVA, 122 Faulkner Street, Armidale. The conference is generously supported by Arts North West and the UNE Smart Region Incubator.
The conference theme will be The Future of Regional Heritage with a program that will explore the innovations and success stories of heritage organisations and activities around the region, as well as an opportunity to discuss the issues and challenges that we face.
The program includes keynote presentations, panel presentations and roundtable discussions, with two broad areas of focus:
A. Museums & collections
B. Local & family history research & special interest

Tickets are now available at TryBooking and are $25, which includes lunch, refreshments and membership of Heritage New England North West for the remainder of the financial year.
Call for Proposals
We still have a couple of presentation spots to fill. If you have been involved with a successful or innovative heritage-related project in the New England or North West NSW, we’re seeking expressions of interest for short panel presentations of 10-15 minutes at the conference that summarise the implementation of ideas and strategies, and the successes and recommendations arising from the project.
We’re envisaging panels will be held for each of three broad streams, although these may be adjusted depending on proposals received:

C. Living history & special interest groups
Expressions of interest should briefly outline your project and why it was successful and/or innovative. No need to be formal – dot points are fine!
Arts North West Inc. is generously supporting the conference and travel expenses up to $150 will be reimbursed for presenters from outside the Armidale region. Presenters will also receive free registration for the conference.
